Updates
All communication will be via group text. Be sure to check the chat regularly for updates/changes. Each participant is responsible for staying up to date on the competitions and for making your picks on time.
Competition Info
All fantasy skating information can be found on the website or in the Google Drive folder. Each competition or competition series will have its own spreadsheet with a list of all skaters and teams that are entered to compete, a listing of assigned skaters/teams for each participant, and the competition results. The current competition spreadsheet will always be located in the fantasy figure skating drive folder.
Skater Selection
There will be a form for each competition where participants will rank the competitors in their order of preference. Selection rules will vary from competition to competition and will be included on the form. Failure to submit the competitor ranking form on time will result in no skaters/teams being assigned for that competition.
Skaters/teams will be assigned in one of four ways:

  1. Repeats Allowed: There is no limit to how many times a skater/team can be chosen and skaters/teams may be chosen by more than one person. Each participant will receive their top 2-3 skaters/teams in each discipline.

  2. Some Repeats Allowed: Participants must have one unique skater/team in each discipline, but all other skaters/teams can be repeated. Unique skater/team will be assigned using the No Repeats Allowed methodology (see below).

  3. No Repeats Allowed: Each skater/team can only be chosen by one person. Participants will be divided into 2-3 flights based on season ranking. The order of each flight will be randomized to come up with the final order (lowest ranked flight first). Skaters/teams will be assigned snake draft style according to the final order.

  4. Cursed: skaters/teams are assigned completely randomly. This is a punishment.

Scoring

Throughout the season, participants will receive points that determine their ranking (higher points = better results). The number of points each participant earns in a competition will be equal to the sum of their assigned skaters/teams' scores. The person with the highest number of points will win a prize. To ensure that all disciplines have equal weight in deciding the season's overall ranking of the participants, the score for each of your skaters/teams is multiplied by the following factors:

  • Men: the score of each skater x 1

  • Dance: the score of each team x 1.35

  • Pairs: the score of each team x 1.31

  • Women: the score of each skater x 1.34

These multipliers are determined by the top 10 scores at the previous season's Worlds (top 5 for pairs).

Prizes & Costs

There is no cost to participate. Any expenses necessary to run fantasy figure skating will come from Milo's generosity. Each participant can choose to add money to the prize fund, which will be used to award the season's winner(s). This is optional and is not required in order to participate in fantasy figure skating. Everyone is eligible to win the prize regardless of whether or not they contribute. The recommended amount to put in is $5-$10. If you would like to contribute to the prize fund, make a payment to Milo by March 1, 2027. Contributions can be made at any point during the season. At the end of the season, you will receive a ranking and prizes will be given based on the highest ranking.Prizes Awarded
First Place - 50% of prize fund
Second Place - 30% of prize fund
Third Place - 20% of prize fund
Prize Options
The winners may choose one of three prizes, to be awarded after the last competition of the season:

  • A gift card to their choice of retailer (must pick a retailer that offers digital gift cards)

  • A cash payout via their preferred payment app

  • A mystery prize (cursed) mailed to their home

Alternately, they may elect to donate their prize to help fund the next season.
